As we all know, all the kit in the world won't do you anything it you're morbidly obese or a Skinny McWeakpants. So what do you do to keep your body fit and prepared for whatever may come your way? Post your workout plans, diet regimen, and whatever else you do to maintain your body in a bugout ready state.

Every other day I go on at least a 15 mile bike ride or hike. My area is pretty hilly, so it's actually about the same level of exertion to bike as it is to hike. On the other days, I do some light bodyweight exercises like pushups, situps, squats, and pullups. I also occasionally climb trees for fun and for a good all-around workout.

For diet, I make sure to have at least one snack of fruit and one meal centered around vegetables a day. I avoid excessive carbs and don't eat a ton of meat. I take fiber daily and keep a big water bottle on my desk to make sure I get enough hydration throughout the day.

What is your definition of old?

I will have my 10 speed back from the shop Monday, so I will be riding that 3 times a week. I am considering the " PX 90 " DVD thing. Either that or the " Combat Conditioning ". I eat okay. Not much rice or red meat. I am taking a multi - vitamin and fish oil every day. I hope the bike helps my cardio. That is my not good area.

Biking totally helps your cardio, but be prepared for some chest pounding fun! Just casual biking for fun has whipped my lungs and heart into shape, and totally amped my metabolism.

Took the bike out for about an hour. The town bike path is a couple minuets down hill from me. Than it goes a few miles north to the next town. I rode most of the way. It was my first time out, so I took it easy. The ride back is a gradual uphill climb, with the steepest being the way back home.

Good, radiating warmth from the upper legs when I got back. I needed that. I'll keep at it after vacation, when I have a bike helmet.

I'm not racing S.T. any time soon, but I hope to get stronger soon.
