Before we discuss link building strategies, we must understand why having inbound links is important. The purpose of Search Engines is to provide the user with the most relevant piece of information they are looking for. For example, if you are looking to buy a new car but can't decide between a Honda or a Toyota, you would make a search in Google; It would probably be something along the lines of "Honda vs Toyota" or "Honda and Toyota reviews". Google would then try to show you a list of sites that they believe is most relevant to your search query. However, how does Google decide what should show up in the #1 spot? The answer is simple: The number of high authority pages that are linking to that site with the keyword will show up in that #1 spot.
