so here's the scenario:
TS did HTF and this for a long time, both water and electricity are no longer available, you are confined in an improvised BOL and for some reason, there is no way to get out for now(that could be an pandemic, riots, unpracticable terrain, the acces is jammed, zombies, pick your favourite!!)
now, how do you get rid of your rejects!!!
you can't just let them in a corner, it will smell like hell before long, and they can't go out because YOU can't (and anyway, the answer to the problem would be too easy and i would'nt bother to ask)
so what solution can you propose?? _________________ you'll never feel more alive than on the edge of death |

Don't bug out w/o a chem toilet or camping toilet seat with the plastic bags. Otherwise, you take your chances with finding a separate place!!! _________________ "If this ain't a mess, it'l do 'till one shows up" |

if you are inside, a 5 gallon bucket and some kitty litter will work very well. Transfer the used stuff to strudy plastic bags as needed.
If you have access to dirt, dig a cat hole for yourself, or even a latrine. _________________ Bob |

If you have any sort of yard, you could use a "chamber pot" inside and dig a hole outside to dump your poo in. Nature will take care of the rest. If you garden, you could compost it. However, urine breaks down into ammonia and can give sensitive plants an alkaline burn, but it shouldn't be an issue if you have naturally acid soil. Some people say you shouldn't compost the poop of carnivores because viruses will stay in it and could contaminate your crops, but the only fecal virus in the US is the various strains of hepatitis so it won't be an issue if you're vaccinated. Also, if you know that you don't have hepatitis you should be fine. |

I have a septic tank, so as long as I have water to flush with, I probably don't have to worry much about improvising anything as long as I can bug in. I would need to collect rain water run off for flushing purposes though. not real difficult. _________________ Bob |
