I've read on other forums that people are stock piling ammo to a point that seems ridiculous to me!!! I have 1000 rds stored for all my defensive weapons. I think that is enough for the most likely SHTF I'm most likely to experience in my area. What do all of you think????? _________________ "If this ain't a mess, it'l do 'till one shows up" |

I'm thinking about getting a Lee Handloader in .357 so I can at least shoot a little and have back-up inSHTF if my factory ammo runs out. _________________ "If this ain't a mess, it'l do 'till one shows up" |

When I lived in So. Cal. they were trying to pass a county ord. that limited the amount of ammo a gun owner could store in their home it was like 1000rds total any more then that constituted an arsenal and they had to get a permit that's one of many reasons I moved outta there |

I'm new to the forums, which explains why I''m answering a post from two and a half years ago. I don't know where you guys live but you need to re-evaluate your defensive ideas. In an urban setting one encounter can cost you 36 rounds or more of your defensive weapon. (if you have the mags on hand). Most urban fire fights end when either side runs out of ammo or they're afraid of getting caught (after SHTF not likely afraid of getting caught). I'd guess the one that runs out of ammo first ends up the looser (dead?). As an urban dweller; how often do you think you'll run into gangs or looters in the first year? Plus you need to think about practice. Consider 1000-2000 per weapon per year. |
