your PD might have said that only to confort you... i mean, no cop that you don't know personnaly is gonna tell you any details on their partolling, but since you are in a suburb (so do i) gang are most likely to hang out in big cities, where population is way more dense, it gives them more opportunities to attract attention, because that's the fuel for their power: attention to themselves, fear of them, and the gangname reputation... _________________ you'll never feel more alive than on the edge of death |

Lets see. I have personally seen MS13, Aryan Nation, Yakuzza, and a couple other minor gangs around Columbia MO, There are gangs here but they dont pose a problem yet.
Not like the Small time wannabes Those ass holes think they have something to prove by shooting and killing.
The Real gangs are nothing to worry about it is the wannabe's that you have to watch for. Breakins and random shootings are too small time for the real guys. |

With street gangs, we used to have the Latin Kings but MS-13 ran them out after Katrina. They came in with the illegals who're rebuilding everything. Over in the domestic aisle, we've got the usual suspects in both red & blue flavors. Very high murder rates with the three-way warfare over the street level drug trade, but as long as they're killing each other no one especially cares.
On the organized crime side, there's persistent rumors that some of the very nice, yet unusually affordable, Chinese restaurants are money laundering for someone. As there's no random violence involved locally, I don't see it as a problem for us. (And if the Feds shut them down, I'll just have to get my Kung Po Chicken fix elsewhere...) _________________ "If it ain't the Devil's music, you ain't doin' it right" - Chris Thomas King
